Our Story — How PlayPerya Came to Be
PlayPerya started from a pretty simple frustration. A group of Filipino tech professionals and gaming enthusiasts kept running into the same problem: the online gaming platforms available in the Philippines were mostly designed for foreign markets and then localised — badly. Currency displayed in foreign denominations. Payment methods that required a credit card most Filipinos don't have. Customer support that clearly didn't understand local context. Bonuses that were technically available but practically useless once you read the fine print.
So in 2019, the team decided to build something properly. Not a translation of a foreign platform, but an online gaming experience built specifically for the Philippines from day one. The result was PlayPerya — a name that nods to the Filipino word for carnival or fair, that feeling of excitement, community, and a little bit of luck coming together.
The early days were focused on getting the fundamentals right: GCash and Maya deposits that actually worked, a mobile interface that ran smoothly on the kinds of phones most Filipinos actually own, games that reflect local taste (hello, Pusoy and Bingo), and customer support that could help you in language that felt natural.
Five years in, PlayPerya has grown significantly — but the core mission hasn't changed. Every decision about which features to build, which games to add, and how to structure promotions still goes back to one question: does this genuinely work better for a Filipino player? If the answer is yes, it makes it in. If not, it doesn't.
